We are incredibly excited to announce the birth of Mox, the new virtual bank in Hong Kong by Standard Chartered in partnership with PCCW, HKT and Trip.com.
When I relocated to Hong Kong, little did I know that I’d be witnessing, let alone building a bank during an unprecedented time for the city. But it is during these difficult times that I realise what the spirit of Hong Kong means. It means coming together to overcome seemingly impossible challenges. It means having to creatively adapt to change. It means being resilient.
Hong Kong will – without a doubt in my mind – come back stronger. Now more than ever, people run and live their lives virtually – working from home, taking online classes, shopping online, ordering food and groceries on an app, and of course using online banking services. Mox was among the first to receive a virtual banking licence, and we feel it is our privilege and responsibility to continually improve banking accessibility and experience in Hong Kong.
