Mox Bank Limited alerts customers of the risk of unauthorized website impersonating Mox Bank

Hong Kong, 18 July 2022 – Mox Bank Limited (“Mox” or “the Bank”) would like to alert its customers to a fraudulent website using the domain name “hxxp://mox-hk[.]online-mobile-login[.]com” requesting customers to ‘Start login’ or ‘Open an account’. This website is not related to the Bank. The Bank’s official website is mox.com. Customers should not visit this fraudulent website or click any suspicious links, download any suspicious files or provide any information. If you are concerned that you may have disclosed sensitive personal information or conducted any financial transactions through this fraudulent website, please report the case to the Police and contact us via our hotline at +852 2888 8228 or email at care@mox.com for assistance.

Customers and the public are reminded not to download the Mox App from any unauthorized distribution channels, including from a website. Mox banking services are only available on the official Mox Bank App which can be downloaded from the official Apple App Store and Google Play. There is no Mox banking service available on any website. Apps downloaded from other channels, including unauthorised websites or unauthorised app stores, may result in theft of your sensitive information or expose you to malware.

If customers are aware of any suspicious website or downloaded app pretending to be from Mox, please report these instances to us immediately via hoax@mox.com. If customers identify any abnormality with the Mox App, such as an abnormal layout or unusually slow login responses, please stop using the App and contact us immediately via care@mox.com.

The Bank has engaged appropriate parties in relation to the takedown of the fraudulent website and the case has been reported to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
