Mox alerts customers of unauthorized instant messages impersonating Mox

Hong Kong, 8 Feb 2023 – Mox Bank Limited (“Mox” or “the Bank”) would like to alert its customers to messages from WhatsApp that are impersonating the Bank. These messages are not related to the Bank. Customers should not respond to these messages, click any suspicious links, download any suspicious files or provide any information. If you are concerned that you may have disclosed sensitive personal information, please report the case to the Police and contact us via our hotline at +852 2888 8228 or email at care@mox.com for assistance. 

If customers are aware of any suspicious messages, SMS or phone calls impersonating Mox Bank, please report these instances to us immediately via hoax@mox.com or to our customer service hotline. Customers are reminded to be vigilant, when you receive an SMS OTP for your online transactions or digital card transactions, ensure it is related to an action initiated by you. Mox will not ask you for your personal information through pre-recorded messages, email or instant messages, and we will never request your passwords or one-time password (OTP).

The Bank has engaged appropriate parties in relation to these impersonating WhatsApp messages and these cases have been reported to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
