Head of Core Banking
We're looking for a Head of Core Banking to drive the evolution of Mox Bank by utilising the advanced capabilities of the Thought Machine core banking platform.
In this role, you will lead and continuously improve a world-class team (consisting of TM subject matter experts and SRE’s), covering both development and operational aspects of all Mox financial products

- Coach, mentor and develop high performing engineers.
- Play a leading role in interviewing, hiring and supporting new engineers.
- Motivate the team with clear “outcome driven” goals that are aligned with both Mox Business and Technology Strategy.
- Drive the Core Banking roadmap in close collaboration with senior stakeholders in Mox. (e.g. Chief Product Officer, Business Owners)
- Continuously evolve the team organisation and operating model (in collaboration with CIO and other stakeholders) to meet demand and avoid bottlenecks.
- Closely collaborate with our strategic vendor Thought Machine to ensure optimal strategic alignment in terms of roadmaps and “ways of working”.
- Spearhead the definition of patterns and accelerators to remove “undifferentiated heavy lifting “ from product squads and increase key engineering metrics, such as lead time, stability, MTTR and deployment frequency.

- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Experience leading and managing engineers (both inhouse and contractors) distributed across multiple locations and time zones.
- A background in architecture with a good understanding of identifying and making trade off’s.
- Strong ability to influence other teams and departments.
- Understanding of banking and accounting processes and models.
- Understanding of modern automated testing practices and design.
- Experience with core banking platforms. (optional)
- Ability to strike a continuous balance between feature development, BAU and Tech Debt remediation.
- Experience with designing team structures in alignment with architecture principles. (e.g. “Team Topologies”)
- Experience working in fast paced agile environments that deliver regular (2 weeks or less) releases into production.
